I went to see "The Diary of Anne Frank" at Intiman Theatre Saturday night, and was surprised to learn that Anne is played by Lucy DeVito, the 25-year-old daughter of Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman. The play covers the years Anne Frank's family spent in hiding in Amsterdam during World War II. And Lucy is adorable. She's short enough to look like the 13-year-old girl she portrays (At 4-foot-11, she tells the Seattle Times: "I come from a long line of shorties"). And she seems to have more energy than anyone else on stage. It's the humorous moments where she really shines (and in such an intense show, those moments are a relief). You can catch her on stage until May 17.
