Talk about lightning striking twice. Jessica Gates of Shoreline found $40 in her driveway as she was leaving for work one morning. Gates says she and her boyfriend make it a habit of buying lottery tickets with found money. "We figure if we were lucky to find the money maybe we'll be lucky again," she said. So when she arrived at work at a Wallingford Chevron station, she decided to spend $20 on four Scratch tickets and the rest on a nice lunch. When she scratched the winning ticket, she couldn't believe her eyes. "I handed it to a co-worker and he said 'Jessica, I think you just won $100,000!'" Gates plans on putting her winnings toward a new home and a flat screen TV she's been eyeing.

$20 for a "nice lunch" ? The two of us spend that at Taco Time.

Um, I think that was my $40, so we should probably split the winnings 50-50 for the sake of karma, right?

I think this is so very cool! It really does put a smile on my face to hear someone actually happening upon some good luck!
