No fans of the Sonics-stealing Oklahoma City, (206) Life discovered that Reuters' (and AskMen.com's) Top 10 Hells on Earth list ranks Oklahoma City as #5. "Yep, Oklahoma City, future home of our Sonics, is a worse place to visit than the travel hotbeds of Chernobyl, Mogadishu, and Baghdad." Reuters says being in the direct path of "Tornado Alley" makes Oklahoma City the city worst affected by tornadoes in the U.S. (and the only U.S. city to make the list). Here's the worst 10...

1. Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
2. Linfen, China
3. Bujumbura, Republic of Burundi
4. Pyongyang, North Korea
5. Oklahoma City, United States
6. Chernobyl, Ukraine
7. Mogadishu, Somalia
8. Yakutsk, Russia
9. Dhaka, Bangladesh
10. Baghdad, Iraq

I wouldn't say Oklahoma City is dumb since I was born there, lived there for high school and still have family there, but I will say that there really isn't a lot to do there. Do I see the Sonics staying there? No. Do I really see them selling out Ford arena? No, they might for the first year or initially, but not forever. If the sonics hadn't made unreasonable demands I bet the city and state may have been willing to do what they could to keep them here. but taking it to the legislature a week before the end of the session is unreasonable in my opinion. Let them go, they are failing to score here on more than the scoreboard, they will do the same in Oklahoma City.

I've visited both the Mog and Baghdad and I have to say they're both getting short-changed being described as hells on Earth. I found both to be very hot, happening towns full of lively, energetic people always interested in meeting and greeting Americans and engaging them in heated debates while showing off their rights to bear arms.

Oklahoma ... all they have to their credit is the dustbowl, the Grapes of Wrath, tornado alley, Timothy McVeigh and a surrey with the fringe on top.

Don't forget the Sooners ... and the OU football team.

Yep, I lived in SW Oklahoma for 3+ years and yes there's not much to do there but drink and party. I've visited OKC and Dallas almost every weekend.

Like I said, they have the Sooners. And Sooner nation has a big following everywhere in the US.

Living down in South Florida watching the OB games in the old OB -- which is almost gone, torn down -- the faithful followed them everywhere you go.

It's a different culture. Too bad Howard didn't do good, he had a 5-5-1 year. Too many bad dental jokes I reckon.

BTW Props to citizen rain for good blogging and stuff!!!

OKC isn't that great of a place, but to be put on a list with these other cities shows what a lack of Inteligence for the people who put this list together. You could just as easily say biased non factual stuff about seattle(referencing the OKC being the worst affected US city by tornados) exe. Seattle is #5 on the list for being the worst hit US city by Earthquakes, and living in th shadow of a volcano. You reall y have to be a retard to believe anything writen by anyone who help complie this list. It is just plain wronge. I'm sure it would be much better to be killed in an attack in Baghdad(# 10 yeah right morons) then watch tornado warnings on Channel 4 saying there is hail and a Tornado just hit 25 miles from anything.

First off

Tom, you might wanna watch what you type on the internet it may just prove your level stupidity.

Second onto this biased artilcal

this was obviously witen by someone who is butthurt over Seattle failing to do what was needed to keep the Sonics. 100% of the Blame is on the City of Seattle. You are to stuck up high and mighty to work with them so you pushed them out the door good going, which is next baseball or football? OKC might just take them also since you to arrogant thinking the Sonics owe you something. They helped bring in Income for your city, but that wasn't good enough, they also had to play in a substandard arena. Maybe now the sonics have decnt leaderhsip and can do something.
