Times blogger Benjamin Romano writes that as top business execs met with Bill Gates yesterday at the CEO Summit, their spouses were treated to an intimate tour of Pike Place Market - led by Tom Douglas. They went on a series of tastings. First to Delaurenti for olive oils, then to Pike and Western for wine, then Beecher's for cheese. The group then convened at the Palace Ballroom, where they watched Douglas give a cooking demonstration and chowed on a yummy-sounding menu, including halibut and strawberry marmalade tart.
