A new shop that's opened in Seattle aims to push the boundaries of grieving and art. Greg Lundgren has partnered with several artists for his new Death Boutique, which specializes in art and cremation urns for the ashes of the deceased. From what I can gather, merchandise ranges from portraits to custom-made "memorial action figures." As part of his larger business - Lundgren Monuments - he creates stunning glass headstones. He is also a representative for Celestis Space Services and Eternal Reefs - giving you the opportunity to launch your loved one's remains into orbit or have a unique burial at sea (I had no idea there were burial options like this). Seattle Twist blog had this quote from Lundgren: "As a culture, we have a natural instinct to avoid, hide, block out and generally ignore our own mortality. This boutique stands to confront these issues with art, style and diversity." His new shop is located at 1011 Boren Avenue.
