KING 5 viewers have been sending in photos of some colorful clouds that formed yesterday afternoon over Port Townsend. An article in the Port Townsend Leader called the phenomenon on a "freak circumhorizontal arc" caused by light passing through high-altitude cirrus clouds. It apparently happened around noon, drawing hundreds of people outside to stare at the sky. One person compared the event to a scene out of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

We also saw these clouds around 1:30pm in the Burlington area. I was wishing I had my camera with me.

Sometimes after a rocket has been fired the gases left in the trail will reflect the sun in a beautiful vertical rainbow . I saw this west of the San Fernando valley in southern California.

Whoa! I'm freaking out... urbansurvival.com is predicting a west coast earthquake July 7-9. Those same types of clouds were seen over china just before the massive earthquake there... check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=+KKMTSDzU1Z4
