Just three days ago the Mariners let GM Bill Bavasi go. And this morning - they fired John McLAren, who leaves a team with the worst record in the major leagues. Interim General Manager Lee Pelekoudas said McLaren took the news hard, but professionally. "This club was underperforming," Pelekoudas said at a press conference. "We hadn't shown any improvement for the last couple of months, in fact we were probably regressing at this point." Bench coach Jim Riggleman will run the team for the rest of the season. It would appear that a man that can't control his outbursts in front of the media would also appear that he can't control his team in any efforts to get them to produce on the playing field. In short, he was out of control in to many ways

Now all we need is the TRIFECTA
Bavasi's Gone, Mclaren's gone.
Now get rid of all the $1 million + a year players and bring up the minor leaguers!!! Can't do any worse and probably more entertaining because they will play their hardest.
