Tomorrow marks the Capitol Hill Community Garage Sale Day, in which residents all over the Hill will be getting rid of junk and mingling with neighbors. The sales span the whole neighborhood, but there are two public spaces where apartment dwellers will be selling their goods - the Capitol Hill Arts Center, and JC Mueller LLC on Madison. Sounds like they'll be the hot spots. You'll find more details and a map of sales here.

Hi - data point - if your headline means "it's this weekend's biggest garage sale in Seattle," great, but otherwise, Greenwood is the original community garage sale day - since the '90s - with about 150 sales participating this year (their Garage Sale Day was in April) and we sponsored/organized the fourth annual West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day this past May 10th, with more than 140 sales participating. We wish Capitol Hill much success this weekend and will be promoting the sale in our calendar, so it's not a case of rivalry here, just accuracy. (Perhaps in future years we can all have a good-natured competition. Maybe even one of those "continuous mile of yard sales" setups that would be a TV newscast kicker nationwide.)

Katherine actually meant we have bigger garages, WSB. Thanks for the post!

Hi - "data point" :) - no way did Greenwood have over 150 sales this year, since it ended up snowing on their sale day! I don't doubt that many were registered/on the map, and they have probably had that many in past years ... but believe me, we drove around and tons of people decided to bail. (Quite understandably; I'm sure I would've too, and in fact questioned my sanity for being out there at all ...)
