There's SoDo, Allentown and the ID. Now, Seattle neighborhood Beacon Hill is promoting their own catchy nickname: BeHi. Police cars are sporting "BeHi' bumper stickers in the south precinct and neighborhood students have been using the nickname at schools, reports the Times. The name is even used at local coffee shops. Not everyone is convinced of its cleverness though. "It just sounds so wrong," reads one post in an online discussion. "It just looks silly and sounds too much like 'beehive,'" another wrote. No one knows how BeHi got started, but there's much discussion on whether it's catchy or just too gimmicky. I prefer LiSa (little Saigon) just east of Chinatown.
I know exactly how it got started...Duh, Be High!
...started on the streets w/ all the little baggy-pants-wearing dopers and thugs. It would be a real shame if it was actually adopted through the naivete of the middle-aged taxpayers. Geez, the cops are sporting the bumper stickers on their cars? You are kidding, right?
How stupid. Give me a break.
i hearby christen phinney ridge as PHI-RI.
pretty obvious, if you want to be known as an area for getting high.. I wouldnt want that nickname if I lived there.. might as well just call it Zone 420.
Beacon Hill = BeHi Aka " 420 hill "
Capitol Hill = CaHi
QueenAnne Hill = QueeHi < - -move the gays here.
