Shortly after two families gave thanks for the rescue of their teenage sons buried in an ice cave avalanche, word came that a 15-year-old boy buried in a sand cave collapse in Federal Way had died.

Not sure what it all means, or if it means anything at all more than two random events happening close together. It does get one pondering the fragility of life though.

These stories have really gotten my attention. My dog died on Saturday, unexpectedly, and these stories, particularly the loss of such a young life, put my own pain in perspective. I pray for the people who loved the boy who died most of all, but also Praise God for sparing the lives of the boys in the cave. Such bittersweetness.........
