Thousands of gamers - video, tabletop and PC - have descended on the Washington State Convention & Trade Center for the Penny Arcade Expo.
If you're heading downtown this weekend, expect a LOT of people who look like they spend a lot of time indoors owlishly blinking at the Seattle sky as they take a break to view our fair city. There were so many people out last night, the corner of 7th and Pike looked like a downtown New York intersection, with hundreds of pedestrians tying up crosswalks long enough to only allow a couple cars to get through the intersection on a green light.
Hello NERDS
Welcome to Seattle
I will be attending just to check it out...
New experiences are always fun no matter wether I fit in or not.....
I'm heading off to PAX in just a few minutes. Can't wait!
Welcome gamers! Have fun, play safe and good luck leveling up.
"expect a LOT of people who look like they spend a lot of time indoors owlishly blinking at the Seattle sky as they take a break to view our fair city."
I kind of resent that. I'm a local, in fact I work downtown way up in the WaMu Tower and I was one of those PAX attendees. So thanks for the stereotyping but maybe you should have owlishly opened your discriminating eyes and seen that they were all completely normal people. And for crying out loud, it was great to see downtown with a night life that wasn't hobos!
I was kinda annoyed with the tone of this posting as well. Would the poster be surprised to learn that me and my wife both work in the Real Estate business? Another friend of ours who attended works in Marketing... Hell, my MOM plays World of Warcraft and is in her 60s and is a management trainer for one of the largest corporations in America.
No offense meant. I'm a gamer myself and I've found myself struggling to refocus after spending hours hunched over staring at a backlit screen...
