An Auburn resident accidentally set his townhome on fire early this morning after he "attempted to siphon gasoline from a 5 gallon drum into his work van using an electric vacuum cleaner," said Valley Regional Fire Authority officials. "Fire quickly erupted and spread under the van and to the exterior of the adjoining garage and townhouse." No one suffered injuries, but the van is a total loss and the townhouse sustained some exterior damage.
