The Stranger has decided to discontinue Ellen Forney's popular Lustlab Ad of the Week cartoon, blogs Seattlest. "I'm really sad, but it's not a huge surprise," Forney writes on her blog. "I'm thankful to have had the series for as long as I did (four years!). I'll take the time to work on my new book, and will soon start plotting my next comic series. (I'm open to suggestions! And no, switching to Craigslist's personals isn't an option -- pesky copyright issues..!)" Fans of Forney's work can check out her upcoming show of Lustlab originals at Babeland during Art Walk on September 9th. Giant installations of her work will also be featured at the Capitol Hill light rail station when it opens 2016. Check out video of her proposals for that project.

Good riddance to bad rubbish, as my dad used to say.

The Stranger has gotten far too lusty in the last few years. Three or four pages of ads for "escorts" per issue... classy!!! *sarcasm implied*

It looks a little like the yellow pages ad, actually, exactly the same, but in red.

Puritanism is alive and well in the 21st Century, it would seem.

'too lusty'?

oh puh-leeze yourself... since when is advertising an illegal business acceptable?

I don't actually have a major issue with the content of the paper, incl Savage Love, Control Tower, etc. To each his/her own.

But I do have an issue with those sleazy advertisements they run. They are the reason I no longer read the paper.

A person can say or do whatever they like, as long as they aren't hurting anyone else. I completely agree with you there... however, it doesn't make what they say or do tasteful or classy.

Sorry, but ads for sex chat lines, bathhouses and especially, "escorts", are sleazy.

It's not about Puritanism, do whatever you want with whomever you chose!, it's about class.
