Love them or hate them (I'm actually a fan), the new baby high heels produced by the Bellevue company "Heelarious" are getting plenty of attention. The soft and squishy baby booties, created by two Bellevue moms, are designed to look like hot pink and animal-printed high heels. In just three months, they have found their way into 350 stores worldwide and have been featured on "The Today Show" and in the New York Post. But some folks think these baby booties are exploitive. A commenter on KING5.com named Cooper writes: "What's next ... thong diapers?"

THESE ARE RIDICULOUSLY UGLY. THE HEEL DOESN'T MAKE IT VERY STABLE FOR THE BABY TO WALK. I'M A FAN OF THE SHOE/SOCKS, THAT LOOK LIKE MARY JANES OR BALLERINA SOCKS BUT THESE HEELS ARE UGLY!!

You've got to be kidding me! Talk about this generation of kids growing up WAY TOO FAST!! Is Baby lingerie next???? This is absolutely disgusting!! You want your babies to stay babies, yet someone keeps creating and marketing items that make the babies of the world want to have babies so they can have the latest new style of baby clothes, shoes, etc. WHEN WILL THIS SOCIETY LEARN???

Ladies:

ask yourselves why, in the first place, YOU wear heels.

it's to enhance your legs and rear as you walk and stand.

everyone knows this

now..apply that to an INFANT?

it's messed up, no matter how you slice it.

I 100% agree. This is abhorrent. We need to stop sexing up our underage children with inappropriately adult clothing/shoes. What's next, make up for babies? It's just not okay to make children to appear even remotely sexual. I sincerely hope that those who run this business read this board and that the business fails miserably.

seriously, you don't remember playing dress up when you were little?
these are crib shoes, not walking shoes.

Lighten up ladies

to Malarnia: Are you serious? Dress up when you are 3 or 4 is one thing. High heels for a BABY that can only crawl or lay there and look cute - is disgusting and making them grow up way too fast. Don't tell me to lighten up when the babies of this world (pre- and teen girls) are disappearing all over the world because of they way dress and go out in public - enticingly sexy. We say that we need to protect our children - we don't - they are more exploited in this way than you or anyone else realizes. Go ahead, slam me - I know what I see and hear going on in the world.

I also feel that these shoes are very unattractive. The "folding heels" on the shoes appear quite disgusting. The parents of these babies have to be very "fake" and "materialistic", to say the least.

Today, young children are already being victimized much too often by child predators, and the like. Therefore, this new fashion trend may just be adding fuel to the fire. Whatever happened to childhood innocence?

Next, we will probably see vests on Goldfish!

There's a difference between a child deciding to play dress up and this. For one, infants don't play dress up. For two, the child decides on their own to play dress up, but infants can't make decisions like that. But mostly, it's that dress up is a game of imagination, pretending to be an adult, emulating a beloved parent, etc. When a small child puts on adult clothes, it doesn't look sexual, it looks cute or silly, because they are swimming in them. In addition, they don't wear the stuff out and about in public, they do at home.

It's hard to put into words, but much like the judge who said he couldn't explain the difference between true art ( ie, the paintings of the old masters) and pornography in words, he knew pornography when he saw it.

The same applies here. High heels for babies, make up on toddlers and pre-teens, pre-teens in Britney Spears inspired wardrobe, things of this nature are not the same as a child playing dress up

I think the shoes are pretty funny to be honest. It has nothing to do with a baby "growing up too fast"...as if they can really perceive that they are wearing stillettos! I think there are greater issues at hand that cause a child to grow up too soon other than some squishy high heels...lol. Truly, it's soooo not that deep (hence the name "heelarious"). Otherwise, parents need to take away baby dolls and barbies as well.

I dunno. Seems to me that the parents of these infants are the ones who are playing dress up. No doubt they spend a small fortune to put outfits on their dogs as well. To these women children and pets are NOT cherished members of the family; they are fashion accessories. How pathetic!

Those are seriously the dumbest looking things I've ever seen... Please, lets leave it for the grown women where it belongs..

How stupid! They look ridiculous and don't serve any purpose. Another reason I'm glad I have a boy.

I agree .. totally absurd. They're pushing baby girls into the 'sexy' mode while still in diapers. And in the video when the baby was being held up on her feet, the 'heel' crunched down giving the child a totally unstable surface to stand on.

Don't these idiotic parents know you can stress little barely-formed joints? And even if the baby is still just crawling, the 'heel' restricts normal foot movement.

If the parents want 'sexy dolls,' then go buy one. Don't treat your children with such little respect .. for whatever misguided reasons you have. And there are far better ways to make money than producing baby 'sexy toys' for the 'rich and famous' .. who often have very little common sense themselves.

The one parent was commenting about her viewing tapes of 'Sex in the City' .. do you let your kids watch that, too??

I also agree .. they're ugly.

This is a horrible idea! Sick, sick, sick

Since when are high heels slutty? Most women wear them every day. If they were clear plastic with a baby equivalent of a clear 6 inch heel I could maybe see that point, but they’re supposed to be a novelty joke. I think they’re hilarious, especially the leopard print because they’re just so over the top its funny. They're supposed to be ridiculous. They’re for BABIES after all, not toddlers or young children. If heels are so bad and suggestive then we as mothers shouldn’t be setting the example of wearing them ourselves, we shouldn't buy our kids barbie dolls that wear them or let them play dress up with mom's shoes. We should all just wear birkenstocks, sneakers and flip flops. The truth is heels are prettier and thats why women will risk blisters and sore feet because they're pretty and feminine and women like pretty feminine shoes. Anybody who could possibly find a 6 month old's shoes suggestive is a sick sick person. I understand not buying heels for a child that walks because its not healthy for their feet and I understand once girls get old enough that someone might possibly look at them in a sexual way making them wait to wear anything that could possibly make them look older. I would never ever put my baby girl in a beauty pageant with makeup and slutty clothes, and I would never let my daughter leave the house in a miniskirt. But this is a cute jokey thing for a baby so you can get a picture of her in shoes like her mom. That is as harmless as putting a baby boy in a tux or a tie like his dad. I would totally let my daughter wear a pair as a joke and get some cute funny pictures of her. People really need to chill out. We're talking about babies here, BABIES people! Lighten up.

Seriously ladies - Lighten up is a nice way of putting it. Do you dress your babies in potatoe sacks? NO, you buy cute dresses and cute little patten leather mary jane shoes to make them look cute. Throw on a pair of squooshy heels and they look cuter. Nobody dresses their baby girls in something that is "ugly to the eye", so why not put on a pair of cute shoes. So, because it has a "squooshy" heel, it will make them enticing? Are you serious?
A predator is a predator - sick in the head. They will "prey" on children regardless of what he/she is wearing. So I say, dress your children the way you see fit. Don't worry about what everyone else dresses their children in. If I didnt like the pretty purple dress you put on your child, I wouldnt buy it....So dont buy the shoes if you dont like them. To wish someones business to fail because you dont like their idea, is disgusting. In regards to what I see everyday in this failing economy. Here's to the Heels and the ladies who came up with a great business idea. I am a grandmother, I am not superficial, I am far from materialistic. I bought the shoes....WHY? because they are adorable and I liked them. I say.....Lighten up Lucies.
