At first I thought this was a joke. A Seattle Weekly blog says tryouts will be held Friday for Seattle's own division of the Lingerie Football League. The all-female league apparantly has 10 franchises across the country and was formed after a "Lingerie Bowl" Super Bowl halftime show proved to be highly popular. Our team will be called the "Seattle Mist." Players will play full-contact football in bras, panties, helmets and some pads, which kinda sounds like it would hurt. According to a press release posted on Buzzer Beater: "Seattle will be home to the LFL's Seattle Mist which will comprise of Seattle's most attractive and athletic women. We will meet with hundreds of Seattle based women during Friday's mini-camp and test the ladies through a series of football drills." Does this mean we'll get an all-guy cheer squad? More details on tryouts are on the Seattle Mist MySpace page.
