TechFlash, started by former P-I tech reporters Todd Bishop and John Cook, say they've stumbled across Microsoft billionaire and philanthropist Paul Allen's "secret" MySpace page. Unfortunately, it's a "secret" no more and the profile has been set to private, but the guys did manage to do a screen grab before then. The screen name is under "Merman" and the profile pic shows a man playing a classic Fender guitar. "The face is cropped out, but it looks a lot like Allen enjoying one of his favorite pastimes. Even the ring on the right hand looks like one Allen has been known to wear." While there's some obligatory false details in there (age "102," hometown "Timbuktu, Mali"), the "interests" section lists many of Allen's favorite musicians, like Jimi Hendrix. "But the real clue to Merman's identity is contained in the public messages along the right rail of the site. On Jan. 21 of this year, several of Merman's friends made a point of logging on and wishing him a happy birthday. Yep, you guessed it. That just happens to be Allen's birthday." (Via The Big Blog)
