Seattle Sounders FC opener scheduled

Seattle's new Major League Soccer team will compete in the first match of the 2009 MLS season. On March 19, the Sounders FC will host the New York Red Bulls in a game nationally televised on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. "By being selected for the first match of the 2009 MLS season, this presents an opportunity to show a national audience what all the excitement is about in Seattle," said Sounders FC majority owner Joe Roth, on the Sounders' Web site.
