Dicks Drive-In celebrated its 55th birthday Wednesday. In honor of the occasion, owner Dick Spady shared with KING 5 News the four responsibilities he says he's followed to stay in business - even during troubled economic times. They include treating his employees fairly, and working to build a sustainable community. "And you help wherever, whether you help the city, state, national or international level. You do what you can do," he told reporters. Click here for more.

Congratulations! Having grown up near a Dicks, this brings back fond memories. In fact, now living out of the area, I have been craving one of those wonderful burgers for a while now. Time to go back to the old neighborhood!

Hurrah for Dicks! Great food--Best fries ever!-- reasonably priced.

And best of all, they treat their employees like human beings: pay above minimum wage, health benefits, tuition assistance, promotion from within.

If a small local chain like Dick's can do it, why can't McDonald's?

Home of the original McDonald's fries! I don't get to eat at Dicks often, but when I do, it's a treat!

Interesting to discover how well they treat their employees. Go Dicks!
