Devouring sEATtle has the full list of semifinalists for the 2009 James Beard Awards, considered the Oscars of the food world. This year, there's an impressive list of local names among the contenders, including Tom Douglas (Outstanding Restauranteur), Tamara Murphy of Brasa (Oustanding Chef) and James Miller of Besalu (Outstanding Pastry Chef). Outstanding restaurant includes Poppy and Spinasse. Each category has 20 fanalists, which will be then cut down to five. The winners will be announced on May 4 in Lincoln Center in New York.
