The best roller-skater in the country lives right here in the Seattle area, says the P-I. Meet 28-year-old Josh Rhoads of Lynnwood, a competitive artistic roller-skater who has the moves of a competitive ice-skater, except on wheels. "People can't fathom that it's a legitimate, competitive sport," he says. "It's just unfortunate that roller-skating hasn't been on the main map." Josh has been skating since age 6 and has competed in 12 world championships in artistic roller skating. He's always ranked the top American finisher and has finished fourth a few times. He hopes to finish in the top three this year at the world championships in Germany. Check out his moves captured on video by the P-I:
This makes me so happy to see. Roller skating should be more noticed. Roller derby has made it a little more main stream but its good to see other people still skating. I just bought a sweet pair of skates and I just love it. Good job, guy.
LMAO sums up my thoughts. While we are on the 'things people don't care about' topic I think someone owns a cat named Herbert in Kent...thats worth mentioning.
You all were thinking it...
