It's just gotten a little harder to get drunk before noon in some Seattle neighborhoods, blogs Slog. The city of Seattle has added more restrictions to the city's Alcohol Impact Area program, which bans sales of high-alcohol, low cost malt liquors in neighborhoods like Belltown, Capitol Hill, the U-District and the International District. In January, the city signed an agreement with local liquor distributors, who will pressure retailers to stop selling single cans and bottles of high-alcohol beers between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. Retailers can still sell six-packs, but city officials believe the ban on single servings will reduce public intoxication.
