I grabbed a free sample for the new Starbucks instant coffee over the weekend, but I've never been an instant coffee drinker - and so it's still sitting on my kitchen counter. Other bloggers gave it a try. Check out Voracious blogger Mark Fefer, who drinks instant coffee on a regular basis, and says: "I can say that it is marginally superior to Folger's or Taster's Choice. A little rounder and more full-bodied." Peter at Seattle Metblogs says: "What really strikes you about this product is the texture: it's definitely not your father's Folger's Crystals." And comments are coming in on the Starbucks Gossip Blog.
Had my free sample about 20 minutes ago and thought it was pretty good! Not a substitution for the real deal, but great for camping and office emergencies. I'll be keeping a stash in my desk for sure.
I would say it is a complete replacement for freshly-brewed. I recommend everyone try a blind taste test.
