The Seattle Peace Concerts, a 28 yr old tradition of providing free summer concerts in the setting of some of Seattle's finest parks is getting a facelift.
Due to dwindling attendance, a group of Seattle creatives stepped in to breathe new life into this historical concert series while maintaining Founder, Don Glenn's vision of uniting people of All-Ages, ethnicities, and religious beliefs through the commonality of music.
Adopting the new Mission Statement of... Peace ... Love ... Unity ... Respect, this once considered "Hippie Fest" is morphing into an All-Ages, family friendly event as early adopters now well into their 50's and 60's, are taking the youth of Seattle under their wing to show them how the music of the past has, and continues to influence the music of today.
One committee member commented, "New blood is good for an organization for it brings fresh ideas and energy. We're introducing a more corporate approach while maintaining the integrity of Don's original vision. We've made a conscious decision to seek out family and environmentally friendly sponsors and vendors for these events."
There are 8 concerts in the series held every other Sunday from Noon-6PM in various Seattle parks between July-Sept. This group of hopefuls plan to offer up dates to individual promoters next year allowing them to present some of the hottest touring and local NW musical acts.
"SeaPeace has the potential and drive to entice national touring bands while providing a great learning ground for local NW artists and labels to hone their acts before heading out on their first tour" says one committee member.
The Seattle Peace Concerts needs you! Merchants willing to put up signage ... family or environmentally friendly products, kite flyers, artists, paint dancers, organic or healthy food vendors, SeaPeace wants to hear from you.
Continuing to provide these concerts free to the public will require maintaining a "grass roots" approach to advertising, in which the committee will focus on the undeniable power of face-to-face contact. Street Teams are currently being formed and volunteers are still needed to assist in various capacities.

The Committee is also actively looking for Sponsors and Vendors and has many affordable levels of sponsorship available from Mom and Pop shops, start-ups, to large corporations. Vendors can rent a space for as little as $100.
Since this committee stepped in late in the series, they focused on production of July 13th's "Rock & Swap" show at Gasworks Park and Hendrix Fest Sept 7th at Magnuson Park.
