studio time

this weekend was fun and different for us at the bread crumb. we had a special guest who flew into town, to lay down a track for a demo cd. her name is kandi holt, she is going to be big i tell ya- so make sure to jot down that name, because you can say you heard of her before anyone else had.

kandi arrived bright and early sat am at seatac. we whisked her off to our new favorite place yummy bakery for a delicious coconut bun and milk tea, to make sure she had something light to hold her over during the many hours she would be spending in the recording studio. we had a little time to spare, so we went for a crisp jaunt around greenlake. what a beautiful day!

next we were off to avast studio b, where they had a crystal clear piano awaiting kandi, and jay hallstrom (producer) was off to the control room to begin working some magic, though little was needed because kandi plays with such commitment and intensity that it gives you the tingles. while kandi was laying the piano track, we were told that recently the drum track for tori amos new cd had been laid in the very same studio. which was very cool, considering many people have compared kandi's music to tori amos, sarah maclahlan or evanescence's amy lee.

once the piano track was laid, we were off to radiopoet productions for vocals. before starting on the vocals kandi gave us a preview of the song with piano + vocals. after many hours of everyone working we walked out of the studio with a disk in hand, and found that it had started to snow outside. ( we will have more info. about kandi's song "come in" soon for you)
